10. Anniversary of the GCGTC Conference - November 3rd/4th 2018

To celebrate the 10th Anniversary the Global Center for Gifted and Talented Children invited teachers, educators, parents, and interested persons to a conference at the Palotti Haus in Freising. Many particiapants came on Novemeber 3rd to Freising to celebrate the anniversary with Roya Klingner, head and founder, members of the advisory council, and her team.

The first day started with a musical opening, to be followed by greetings by Eva Bönig, mayor of the city of Freising and Roya Klingner. Next up were presentations:

  • Prof. Dr. James (Jim) Delisle - Designing Gifted Programs: Five Key points for Teachers and Administrators
  • Prof. Marianne Nolte - Recognising and Supporting of Special Gifts in the regular Classroom
  • Dr. Monita Leavitt - How do We feed the Elephant? Helping Gifted Children to Suceed
  • Roya Klingner - Supporting Creativity in Gifted Education

During the breaks several gifted children presented musical interludes.

The second day was dedicated to workshops:

  •  Prof James (Jim) Delisle - Parenting Gifted Children
  • Thomas Eckerle - Causes of failing School Careers aand Ways to prevent them
  • Dr. Monita Leavitt - Your Passport to Gifted Education
  • Prof. Marianne Nolte - Support of mathematically gifted Children in the regular Classroom
  • Dipl. Ing. Sylvia Kegel - Without Women "something" is missing in Technology: Why we need more Women in technical Professions and how they can find the best Support
All participants enjoyed the conference very much and we look forward to the next ten yeary.
